Alarm Clock Free Beats Other Free Utility Apps
I need this application! I know that there is something called a body clock which exists in normally functioning human beings, but if I ever did have one, I guessed its batteries conked out. So when I see an Alarm Clock application at the App Store which comes for FREE, I grab and hang on it for dear morning’s sake. But it takes a really cool reason for me to open my eyes when in slumber, so let’s see whether this utility app is worth letting us wake us up, or if it does at all.
For starters, the clock format is quite presentable. I like the LCD display in a green-colored font. We can view it in either vertical or horizontal and 12 or 24 hour format. If we find the seconds display annoying, we can do away with that too.
And now on to the real deal – the alarm. Alarm Clock Free has the general feature to set the time and option whether to repeat it on a certain day of the week. There are seven sounds to choose from; I think the school bell would be most effective for me. We can even name our alarm the way we want it to. I was wondering what help this would be, and then thought that we can name different alarms according to their functions. So there can be the ‘morning-alarm’, and the ‘tv-show-alarm’ and stuff like that.
What’s an alarm without the snooze button? It is faithfully there with the option to set it at the duration we want it to snooze. We can go a step further and adjust the settings to let the sound fade or not, and also set the volume.
I would say that Alarm Clock Free fulfills its duty and very well indeed, except for a slight glitch. Since this utility app has to be running for it to work, leaving it on all night can drain the battery if it is not fully charged. The Pro version comes with more themes and the option to set our own song as alarm sound. That sounds just about perfect.
