Mooch-Free Battery Status

Face it - we all have things on our iPhone we want to keep private. Whether it is websites we’ve visited, text messages, emails or contact information, we don’t always feel comfortable handing our phone over to someone else. Mooch-Free Battery Status was created to help you protect your privacy.
If you have a problem with a moocher wanting to “borrow” your phone, you fire up the Mooch-Free Battery Status app. It will report that your charge level is dangerously low, and advise you to shut the phone off. You can tell your “friend” that there just isn’t enough juice in the phone, and you need to shut it down.
Just between us, the charge level displayed is one sixth of the actual charge level. So, if your battery is 100% charged, MF BS will report it as 16.7%. To keep up with the illusion, the regular iPhone status bar is hidden so that the battery icon cannot be seen.
But, this is more than a joke app - the MF Battery Status app is also very useful. The Tip tab has more than a dozen great ideas to help protect, maintain, and prolong your battery life.
If that were all the Mooch-Free BS app provided for you, it would be well worth the tiny sum we ask. But there is also a secret. The *actual* battery status and charge levels are also displayed for you. We have hidden them in plain sight, on our About tab. If you look at the last image, you will see that this iPhone is “plugged in” (1) and is currently operating at 100% (2) of capacity.
Just to be sure you know our little code, there is a hidden legend. Just triple tap on the HartBurnAlley logo at the top of the About tab, and the secret will be revealed.
The splash screen says that the MF in MF BS stands for Mighty-Fine. We say it stands for Mooch Free!
Features:
* Traffic Light metaphor - shows red light when battery level is reported to be low (which it always is).
* Popup warns of dire consequences if phone continues to be used.
* Charge level on the Status tab is updated as it changes.
* The actual status of the battery IS monitored, so the percentage displayed on the Status tab will run down in real time.
* The Tips tab has more than a dozen useful ideas for extending battery life.
* Each time you switch into the Tips tab, the next tip is displayed. You can also go forward and back between tips.
* The About tab tells you a little bit about HartBurnAlley, with an embedded link to the HartBurnAlley web site.
* This tab also shows the true status and state of the battery. We call it “hidden in plain sight”.
* Battery state is either “charged up and ready”, “plugged in”, “discharging”, or “unknown”.
* Battery charge level is accurately displayed on this tab. It is the percentage that begins the second paragraph.
* Neither the battery state nor the charge level are updated immediately on the About tab. That would give away the hint too easily. However, the user can switch back and forth between tabs. Each time the About tab is selected, it will display the current(!) values.
* Triple-tapping the logo on the About page toggles the legend on and off. The legend explains how to interpret the battery state and status.
* If you forget to toggle the legend off, it won’t matter. Every time the tab is selected, the legend is hidden.
